Tesla Roadster: new reveal date and what the active-wing patent reveals

A new date, early morning in the Gulf

Tesla’s Roadster countdown now targets 16 October 2026 at 00:30 UTC: 03:30 in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain, and 04:30 in the UAE and Oman. That is 19:30 on 15 October in Texas. The event was previously scheduled for 1 October and was postponed over the outdoor event’s weather forecast. We checked the source on 29 September; the schedule can change.

What the patent application actually describes

Published on 24 September, US20260285418A1 describes a retractable active rear wing with low-drag and high-downforce modes. Examples mention up to 700 kg of downforce at high speeds above 100 mph, deployment under three seconds and angle adjustment under a quarter-second. It also discusses impact retraction and sensors including lidar. These are patent examples, not confirmed equipment on a production Roadster.

Keep leaks separate from production specifications

Connecting that document to the Roadster remains an inference. Mentioning lidar does not establish customer-car fitment, and teaser footage does not confirm the full design or SpaceX equipment. Tesla’s 25 September teaser offers a glimpse of the front, not a full unveiling.

Earlier targets, for context only

Earlier Roadster materials listed a 1.9-second 0–60 mph target and 620-mile range. These are neither newly leaked specifications nor independently tested results for the upcoming version. The acceleration target is to approximately 97 km/h, not a 0–100 km/h measurement.

What to watch for

Final motor output, battery and charging details, a named range test cycle, pricing, production and delivery timing, and trim-specific equipment remain the questions to resolve. Gulf availability, warranty and servicing require local confirmation. A reveal is not the start of customer deliveries.
