BYD previews second-generation Seal 07 sedan with redesigned exterior

BYD unveiled the second-generation Seal 07 exterior on 28 September 2026, previewing a mid-to-large family sedan available in battery-electric and plug-in hybrid configurations. Official imagery displayed a sharper front-end design with revised daytime running lights, a fastback silhouette, and a full-width rear light bar. The displayed vehicle includes semi-concealed door handles and roof-mounted LiDAR sensor technology.

The new model measures 5,080 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,960 mm. Relative to the earlier battery-electric variant, the second-generation Seal 07 stretches 85 mm longer and 50 mm wider, while its wheelbase extends 60 mm. Height remains unchanged from the previous generation.

Regulatory filings indicated the electric powertrain will offer peak motor outputs of 245 kW and 300 kW, both exceeding the 240 kW motor in the original Seal 07 EV. Both electric variants employ lithium iron phosphate batteries and achieve 240 km/h top speed. The plug-in hybrid iteration continues under the Seal 07 DM-i designation. No pricing or official launch timeframe was disclosed in the announcement.
